Prof. Laird is an Industry Professor at Stevens, where she has taught since 2002. Professor Laird joined Stevens from Lucent Technologies/ Bell Laboratories where she was the CIO of the Data Networking and Services Divisions and led many large software development projects. She has over twenty-five years of industrial experience primarily in software development, product management, and systems architecture. Professional honors and affiliations: Prof. Laird is a member of Phi Beta Kappa and IEEE. While at Lucent, she received many awards, including the Lucent CIO Presidents Award, Lucent Quality Achievement Award, Lucent Achievers Club (Sales), and the Network Systems Quality Award. Education: Prof. Laird received her BS in Computer Science from the University of Michigan, and an MS in EE from Carnegie-Mellon University, as well as Executive Education from the Ross School of Business at Michigan.
