About the Webinar: Raise Record Breaking Funds in a Day (even during COVID-19)

There has been a rise in Days of Giving across Australia, where major gifts are used as leverage to match donations over 24 hours. In 2020, many events are being cancelled and online Giving Days have become a very real alternative. Recently the Children’s Cancer Foundation transformed their famous Victorian Million Dollar Lunch into an online Giving Day.

These campaigns create a sense of urgency, attracting new and engaging existing donors with the opportunity to double or quadruple the value of their donation. They bring together donors, corporate partners, staff and volunteers, to create a significant impact in just one day.

During the height of COVID-19, particularly in Victoria just prior to the onset of Stage 4 restrictions (whilst still being in Stage 3), the Amy Gillett Foundation started the planning for their Inaugural Giving Day. Traditionally their fundraising has relied on events with thousands of cyclists participating, and diversification was a must.

Their Giving Day result far surpassed initial objectives (financial and non-financial) and ended up reaching over 400% of target.

Given external uncertainties, the team at AGF, led by Dan Kneipp, together with the Charidy team, planned and executed the Giving Day all within a three and a half week timeline. From start to finish.

Many organisations might think that they don’t have the resources, time nor data to embark on a Giving Day Journey. If that’s your thinking, then this case study is just for you.

Join this session with Dan Kneipp, CEO at the Amy Gillett Foundation, as he shares his experiences running a Giving Day and how it was all done in such a short timeframe. He will also take you through where to start, key success factors, and break down all the elements that make a giving day a success.
