Kate Robertson Executive Director of Advancement University of Tasmania Kate has over thirty years’ experience in the advancement field spanning different not-for-profit sectors and continents. She has always loved its focus on connecting people with causes and organisations they are passionate about and helping them fulfil their desire to make a positive impact on the community.
Kate heralds from the UK, where she held fundraising positions with prestigious arts institutes including the Royal Academy of Arts, Tate Gallery Liverpool and English National Opera. Kate has also held the position of Director of Development and Alumni Relations at the Universities of Liverpool and Nottingham in the UK, where she launched a successful campaign to raise £150M. In Australia, Kate was previously the Chief Advancement Officer at St Peter’s College in Adelaide, and Chief Engagement Officer at the University of Adelaide. She has served in numerous voluntary roles throughout her career, particularly with CASE (Council for the Advancement of Education) and Educate Plus and was previously a Board Member for Nottingham Contemporary, “the most inspiring gallery in the UK” (Guardian).
Kate joined the University of Tasmania in March 2019 as Executive Director of Advancement and is thoroughly enjoying getting to know the people and places of her new community. | |
Blake Tierney Executive Manager, Regulatory Affairs and Policy Fundraising Institute Australia Blake Tierney is the Executive Manager of Regulatory Affairs and Policy at Fundraising Institute Australia. With extensive experience in both international and national policy, he has worked for the political elite in Canberra at Parliament House and various Commonwealth Government Departments and Membership bodies. Blake has worked on large scale data breaches within the property sector and worked on GDPR/data policy requirements within the Australian banking sector. He has also worked on larger reforms to benefit the lives of Australians and to cut red tape within sectors that require harmonisation. Blake has also worked on major Health pandemics - Ebola Taskforce in 2014 and various Government taskforces to progress Australia’s place in the world. | |
Brad Watson MFIA Public Relations Secretary The Salvation Army Tasmania Brad Watson is the Public Relations Secretary for The Salvation Army Tasmania, leading their fundraising, media, government and business relationships and brand management in that state. His MBA, coupled with other post-graduate education and roles within the Australian Army Reserves, have helped him develop as a leader in not-for-profit and community sector operations over more than 20 years. He is a member of the Social Services Human Research Ethics Committee for the University of Tasmania and has taught ethics and character modules for units of the Australian Army. | |
